Carient is a subscription skincare company changing the way we prevent and treat skin concerns. With so many options in the market, Carient helps create personalized routines that fits your lifestyle, diet, and unique skin. Using a predictive model, we’ll also be able to help you adjust as your lifestyle and needs change. 

 
 

Branding and identity

When it came to branding, we started with a list of adjectives that we wanted our brand to align with. Some of them being clean, simple, minimal and neutral. From there, we put together mood boards of different color palettes, icon styles and typography. These adjectives also helped guide us when looking at packaging design and how we wanted to present our products to users.

 
 

Let’s talk about you

One of the reasons to behind Carient is our understanding that skin health is dependent on so many factors like lifestyle, age, diet and genetics, each of which vary from person to person. These are often overlooked by most skincare companies and products. So we wanted to bring that front and center which led us to design an engaging and conversational skin health quiz to capture those variables.

 

Back to basics

Once users understood their skin and its specific needs, we emphasized the principles of Carient. Skincare doesn’t require 15 products, just like with most things in life, it requires a good foundation of products that work. For Carient, that meant starting with the basics — a cleanser, toner and moisturizer (plus your choice of sunscreen, always). Using visual design, we highlighted the simplicity and personalization of each routine.
